the weekend...

Today I am packaging and posting and getting all orders up to date. I wanted to try making an animation this weekend but instead I remembered that I have to get three little works finished for the upcoming Northern Exposure festival. As they have to be on canvas I think I might pull out the old needle and thread again...

dominique mitchelson...

A little while ago I was wandering through the lane-ways in the city and I came across an exhibition in Centre Place of beautiful drypoint etchings by an artist called Dominique Mitchelson. I scribbled her name down intending to go home and start stalking her on the old interwebs, as you do these days, only to find nothing! This woman, who makes very beautiful prints, is a renegade with no internet presence... fancy that. 

Luckily, she recently popped up on the wonderful new blog Craft City Melbourne, which led me to the Outre Gallery website, and finally here are some pictures for show and tell...

pottering...

One of my favourite things to do is to potter. I spend a lot of time pottering about the place and I must admit I occasionally feel slightly guilty about skipping the real world on a regular basis. However the guilt may be easing as someone lovely who knows me quite well just sent me a BBC article called 'The Joys of Pottering'.

"Pottering and happiness are very likely bedfellows. There is much to be said for it."
